These guys have been blasting forth with their blend of
nitromethane-fueled hot rod instrumentals ("Blower Explosion," "Hole Shot"), drag/surf vocals ("Amish Drag Buggy," "Sasquatch on a
Snowmobile,"), surf instros ("Mafia Staff Woody"), greasy sax-driven stripper-lounge exotica
("Re-Satch-a-Go-Go") and 'B' crime drama soundtrack music ("Theme From The Big Payroll Caper") since
1991. In addition to originals, the band mixes in covers of 50's & 60's B-movie & TV tunes originally done by
the likes of AIP soundtrack king Ronald Stein, JD/sci-fi movie comic relief hipster Slick Slavin, future game
show god Bert Convy and even sports-car movie hero Elvis Presley. |

Diet
Christ is:
Bud Gaugh- drums
Phil Savell- guitar, vocals
Dom Strain- Bass, vocals
Featuring:
RAS1- guitar
Blair Walker- keyboards
Michelle Weineberg- vocals
Ken Ybarra- guitar |
|
Diet Christ is a new rock combo from Long Beach. Consisting of the shattered
remains of the old Busface guitarist,"Phil Savell" and the hit-making "Bud
Gaugh" on drums( LB Dub Allstars, Juice Bros.,Busface and Sublime). They
found bass in the form of one "Dom Strain" of Costa Mesa and Diet Christ was
born. The songs are mostly newer but we still practice in the sewer, and
we're all ten years older and a day. The day has now come for our record to
be done and I hope you like it better than everybody else's new record.
This first bit of information comes in the form of a six song ep entitled
"the early years" with guest appearance from RAS1; to be followed by the
full length record "age of asparagus". People always ask me what kind of
music does Diet Christ play and I tell them, "whatever the hell we want
to." Phil and Dom write all the songs and hope you all sing along.

The
Pivot Foots are:
Blair Walker-
vocals, bass
Mudd Plumbing- drums
Brent Walker- guitar |
|

The Pivot Foots style is to use any
style or all styles, which creates the appearance of no style. The
general rule is: the song is king. The Pivot Foots do owe a debt to
the musicians that have influenced them over the years.

8-Foot
Tender is:
Jeff
Fieldhouse-
vocals, guitar
Saul Koll- guitar
Glen Brunton- drums
Greg Odell- bass, vocals |
|
Noted as the best band in Portland, 8 FOOT TENDER stems from Long Beach Legends such as The Humpers, Falling Idols, Busface, and The Charms.
8 Foot Tender was started in the spring of 1994 by Mike Moe, Greg Odell & Glen Brunton. Saul Koll recomended Jeff Fieldhouse to join up in early 1995 to make the band a 4 piece. Mike Moe then departed in 1997, taking the band back to a 3 piece. Saul Koll then joined winter of 99.......thus another 4 piece. The name 8 Foot Tender was coined by Mike Moe after his
adventures on the high seas. The name continues to represent the band as a "life line", each member working hard to keep the pure spirit & soul alive & well underneath a sea of phonies, fabricating jaded & pretentious music clogging 90% of the general public's mental capacity. We are now proud to announce our first legit CD Album in 6 Years........... CHICKEN SHAKES
